A lobster dream in Brunswick, Maine…

I’m dreaming of the next time I eat a lobster roll at Libby’s Market in Brunswick, Maine.  Hands down this is the best one I’ve ever eaten and the best deal—stuffed full of exquisitely fresh lobster meat in a grilled “foot long” regular hot dog roll.  Co-owner Tina Libby said she doesn’t measure how much lobster she puts in each roll or she’d probably put less.  On one of several visits, I absconded to my VW camper and secretly weighed the $18.50 roll—an astonishing 10 oz.  This one is ideal for splitting, but there are two smaller sizes. Toasted w/butter.  Lettuce and tomato are optional, but why bother?  It’s as simple as you can get—a ton of lobster, a little mayo and the rest is a mystery.  No wonder it’s so good, Tina’s husband Dan is a lobsterman who delivers fresh lobster every night right to their convenience store. Hidden in Brunswick back streets, it’s relatively easy to find using Google maps.  Call ahead to order and bypass the line. Tel 207-729-7277, 42 Jordan Avenue, Brunswick, Maine.
